Special pilot of a live wildlife camera placed in the Mulligans Flat Sanctuary which is automatically uploading it's sightings to Canberra Nature Map.
We are monitoring this account closely and using it to fine tune the platform with the aim being to connect many other similar cameras in as "autonomous users" of the Canberra Nature Map project.
The camera submits a sighting to Canberra Nature Map whenever it detects some motion within it's field of view. This sensitivity level can be adjusted if we find the camera is uploading too many empty or invalid sightings. We are also looking to potentially filter the list of species that can be suggested and confirmed for such cameras, as these cameras are only seeking to monitor particular species of interest.
